Frequently Asked Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

How long have you been in business?

We have been in business since 2002, providing web hosting and server management services. Until 2010 we were providing services only locally, to various areas of Europe, including UK, France, and Italy. Since 2010 we have opened our billing and client portal for worldwide orders, some of our staff members have moved to the USA and we have hired additional staff for faster online technical support. We also expanded our services by adding new hosting locations in USA, Canada and Europe. We now have servers in 10 countries (USA, Canada, UK, Germany, France, Italy, Greece, Finland, Poland, Spain), and we currently host more than 6000 websites.

Are you a registered company?

Yes, we are a registered company as "NetworkPanda Ltd." in Europe and USA, paying taxes with Tax ID EU826407613. Our company registration number is 09952190

Are there any hidden fees?

No hidden fees for any of the services that are described on our site.

Do you have your own servers?

We own all servers for our hosting service and we directly manage them. We are not a reseller of another shared hosting company. This is something good for our customers, because we have direct access to the servers. If you open a ticket to request help, we will begin working directly on the affected server, we will not need to open a ticket with another shared hosting company and wait their response.

How can I request support and how fast is it?

Support can be requested by opening a ticket in the client area. An extensive knowledge base and troubleshooting wizard is also available, which will attempt to help you resolve potential issues, using functionality already available in the client area and cPanel. Our average response time is ten minutes.
Are you tired of companies escalating tickets to various levels of technicians while you wait for problems to be solved? This not the case here. The team that responds to your technical support ticket has direct access to the servers to resolve any server issue, without forwarding or escalating it to someone else. Straightforward and fast internal procedures are the reasons we have more than 3000 customers who have been happy with our technical support.

Which payment methods do you accept?

We accept payments via PayPal. PayPal allows you to pay either using your account balance, or a credit card. So, you can actually pay using your credit card too.

Is a PayPal recurring subscription required, or I can use one-off payments too?

It is not required to create a subscription, but you can do so, if you wish. When you order your account, your first payment will be a one-off payment. Then, only if you wish so, you can create a subscription for automatic future renewals. Else, you can also make your future renewals with one-off payments. If you create a subscription, you can cancel it any time from your PayPal account.

I have already an active hosting account. Can I order more?

You can order as many accounts as you wish with the same email address. If you have a coupon code for discounts, you can use it for any number of orders, as well.

Will you migrate my hosting account from my old host? Is there any cost for this?

Of course, we will try to migrate your account from another cPanel based hosting service. This account migration is a no-cost courtesy service without guaranteed results, and we say "we will try" because successful migration depends on the status of the service of the other hosting company. However, a migration failure is very rare, as more than 99.99% of the migrations are successful.  They could fail only if there are problems with your old hosting company, such as lack of disk space required to create a cPanel account backup, faulty network, creation of corrupted backups on their servers, slow CPU on their servers, or expired cPanel licenses on their servers. Also, we run a virus scan on the files transferred from the other host, and if malware is found in any of these files, we will not be able to restore the backup. Allowing malware on our servers could cause problems with resource usage, spamming, and various problems to other customers due to the blacklisting of our shared IP addresses.

If for any reason I decide to cancel, will you refund me?

Of course. Without any questions, we will give you a full refund if you cancel 60 days after your order, or a prorated refund for the remaining unused days of service, if you cancel after the first 60 days.

Are there any CPU or RAM limits?

Any shared hosting company respecting its customers, should prevent a single customer from monopolizing all server resources and causing problems to other customers. You would not like another customer overloading the server and bringing your site down, so you should not do the same to other customers. As explained in our terms of service, your account is allowed to use a maximum of 30% CPU power and 30% of RAM. These limits are placed in order to ensure that all customers on our servers are able to use the server resources equally, without disruptions in their service. These limits are sufficient for all well written applications and scripts. Note that we host customers with high traffic WordPress/Joomla/e-commerce or forum sites, never exceeding these limits, so if you do, there is definitely something wrong with your scripts or database queries.

Which versions of PHP are you running?

Our default PHP version is currently the most recent of the 5.5 series. However, we have set up a PHP version selector plugin for cPanel, allowing you to run a different PHP version for each of your folders, between 5.2, 5.3, 5.4, 5.5 or 5.6. So, even if one of your scripts is created for a specific version of PHP, you can select this version for its folder. We are also currently testing PHP 7 and soon we will be providing it as an option.

Do you provide free SSL certificates?

Yes, we have integrated the Let's Encrypt service into our control panel, allowing you to install free SSL certificates on any of your primary or addon domains in only a few seconds. Actually, it takes only 1 click to install them. These certificates are automatically renewed forever while your sites are hosted with us.

Do you provide dedicated IP addresses?

We provide dedicated IP addresses as an added value service, for an additional cost of $1 per month. Please note that even if you plan to host an SSL site, dedicated IP addresses are not required anymore. cPanel now supports SNI, for running SSL sites on shared IP addresses. You can just install the SSL for your web site via cPanel and it will work fine, even if your IP address is shared.

Are your servers protected from the recently discovered OpenSSL HeartBleed vulnerability that affected millions servers on the web?

From the first moment the vulnerability was discovered, we had updated all of our servers with official patches and updates provided by CentOS. Also, Perfect Forward Secrecy (PFS) a technology which exchanges a different private key for each HTTPS/SSL session, was already enabled on our servers, more than 1 year ago. A different private key for each session means that attackers could not steal your data, even if they were able to obtain the private SSL keys, using the Heartbleed bug.
However, for even higher protection, we replaced all of our SSL certificates and keys, reissued and installed new ones, to ensure that the old keys are no longer valid.

Is IonCube enabled?

Yes, we have installed the latest version of IonCube, so you can install and run your IonCube encoded scripts without any specific actions from your end. You just upload and run them, without further actions required from your end.

I need to run a Java application. Do you have Java installed on your servers?

Yes, we have the latest version of Java installed on our servers, so you can run your Java applications and .jar files.

Are cron jobs enabled and allowed?

Are remote MySQL connections allowed to your servers?

Remote MySQL connections to our servers are allowed. You will only need to whitelist the remote IP address which will connect to MySQL on our servers. This is an easy one-time process which takes less than 10 seconds.

I have a script which relies on GD Library, or ImageMagick, or GraphicsMagick, or FFMPEG for image/video manipulation. Do you have them installed?

Is Ruby On Rails enabled?

How many emails can I send per hour?

Your account can send a maximum of 120 emails per hour. There is no reasonable and legal usage that would require more than this, and none of our customers have ever reached this limit. Using our servers for spam activities is strictly forbidden. The servers are shared, and if we allowed spam, our IP addresses would be blacklisted by SpamHaus, Baracuda or other blacklists. This would cause problems to other customers while sending messages. For mass mailing you can use other services, specifically created for this purpose, such as SendGrid, Amazon SES, Mandrill, MailChimp etc.

What type of content you do not allow?

Strictly forbidden from our servers are sites hosting the following material, or linking to other sites with the following material:
